80% of gov't websites nonfunctional - China News - SINA English: "BEIJING - Government websites in China have applied more technological methods and provided more services to the public this year, but nearly 80 percent of services are not functional, according to a report.
The report by the China Software Testing Center, a research institute directly under the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, showed that government websites now disclose more information about budgeting, spending on government cars, receptions and overseas travel.
Governments in Qingdao, Shandong province and Suqian, Jiangsu province, also include blogs, micro blogs on their websites to better inform the public and promote policies. Shanghai, Shenzhen, Nanchang and other cities implemented measures to allow disabled people to access government websites."
